Pertubuhan Penyayang Chi Yun orphanage was abuzz last Friday (16/12/2022) morning with rows of delicious food, mountains of presents, and music filled with children and adults alike dancing and singing the morning away. It started out with handing out Christmas presents to the children, each specially brought for them. Riding that excitement, everyone was on their feet for a warmup and dancing session, including clapping their hands and doing the chicken dance! Once all that energy was spent and the kids tired, they all sat down in a circle to wind down with some brief meditation followed by singing. A chorus of holiday songs sang out from the children joyfully until they started singing songs of their own,like 孤勇者 and 彩色翅膀by Sasablue.

The morning then ended with a sand art coloring session, with each kid picking a drawing they liked to fill in, leaving each of them with a memento to keep. The day was filled with songs and fun. Sharing the gift of humanity not just through material gifts, but the human touch of being a part of their lives, sharing the fun and iov of celebration with others.

The last song was “Bole Chudiyan” from the movie “KhabhiKhushi Kabhi Gham”. While this started as a sing-along song. Fatimah, one of the dancers from the opening performances, stole the show by dancing to it, encouraging her fellow students to join her. Soon this last song turned into an impromptu dance performance by the students themselves!

We would like to thank Pertubuhan Penyayang Chi Yun for letting us to have this special Christmas day with the children together. We hope this positivity could be shared out to more people.
