In year 2022, we believe smart automation had been unconsciously assimilated into our daily life regardless of where and when. Did anyone ever try to understand when was the term ‘automation' first introduced to this world? ‘Automation' was first employed about 1946 to describe the rapid increased use of automatic devices and controls in mechanized the production line. At the heart of smart automation as part of digital transformation journey for manufacturing industry is connecting people, machines, products, and services to streamline the flow of information, enable real-time decisions, and enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty. As such, the industry institution collaboration with Tunku Abdul Rahman University College Penang on 26th of August 2022 had given us a good platform to share our growing journey to the students who are currently study in Computer Science & Information Technology field. Mr Koh Dim Kuan – an ex-Tarucian, the co-founder & CEO of Sophic Automation had given a clear image of the business nature of Sophic and the journey from the beginning till now. As a co-founder of the business, he put in the effort and courage to introduce his business to the outside world which people in that time were still strange to this kind of business trend. Maintenance is easy but creation is hard. Eventually, he successfully brought the business to the right track and made it to be seen by the world.
